In our previous post about using Antpool with the Antminer E9 Pro for mining Ethereum Classic, we shared five videos demonstrating the unboxing, connection, setup, statistics checking, and initiation of the mining process. This guide presents the same steps in text form for those who prefer written instructions.
Unboxing the Antminer E9 Pro
When you unbox the Antminer E9 Pro, you will find a large machine measuring 22 inches in depth, 8 inches in width, and 12 inches in height (or 56 cm x 20 cm x 31 cm in metric units). The device includes an Ethernet port for connecting to your local internet router, but it does not come with a network cable, so you will need to purchase one separately.
This miner requires 3000 watts of power and operates at 220–240 volts. If you are mining in a region with a different voltage standard, you will need a transformer equipped with two 220/240 outlets. The two outlets are necessary because the E9 Pro uses two power supplies: one for the fans and another for the mining boards. Note that power cables are not included, so you must acquire these as well.
If you plan to mine at home or in an office with standard air conditioning or at temperatures around 75°F (approximately 24°C), the device should function without issues.
Connecting the Hardware
The Antminer E9 Pro features loud fans, so if you are operating it at home or in an office, ensure it is placed in an isolated location to minimize noise disruption.
To connect the ASIC miner, start by attaching two power cables to the two available plugs on the device. Then, connect the other ends of these cables to your transformer (if using one), a power strip, or directly to a wall outlet.
Next, establish a network connection by plugging an Ethernet cable into the port on the miner and the other end into your local WiFi router.
If you are using a transformer or power strip, connect them to a wall power outlet. Once power is supplied to the miner—either by switching on the transformer or connecting the cables—the device will start immediately. You will notice the secondary fans activating first, followed by the main fans after a short interval.
Local Computer Setup
To set up the Antminer E9 Pro for management via your computer, both devices must be connected to the same WiFi network.
Access the miner’s interface by opening a web browser and entering the URL 192.168.0.210. This is the default local network address for the device. The interface will prompt you for a user ID and password. The default credentials are both "root". Enter these to gain access.
Once logged in, change the password for security reasons. Navigate to the "System" tab in the left-hand menu and update your password there.
The next step is configuring the miner to connect to the Antpool mining pool. This requires information from Antpool, which we will cover in the following section.
Initiating Mining: Connecting to Antpool
To obtain the configuration details for connecting your miner to Antpool, visit https://antpool.com and create an account if you haven’t already. After logging in, select "ETC" as your mining pool by using the dropdown menu in the top-right corner and clicking on Ethereum Classic.
On the ETC mining page, you will find three pool addresses:
- stratum+tcp://stratum-etc.antpool.com:8008
- stratum+tcp://stratum-etc.antpool.com:443
- stratum+tcp://stratum-etc.antpool.com:25
Copy each of these addresses. Then, return to your Antminer interface and go to the "Settings" section. On the settings page, you will see a form with fields for three URLs under Pool 1, Pool 2, and Pool 3. Paste the Antpool addresses into the corresponding "Mining Address" fields.
In the "Miner Name" field, configure a unique identifier for your device by entering your Antpool account ID, followed by a dot and a number you assign to the machine. For example, if your account ID is "ETCPOW" and you designate this miner as number 11, the name would be "ETCPOW.11".
For the "Password" field, enter "123", which is commonly used for these systems. After filling in all fields, click "Save". Your miner is now configured and ready to begin mining.
Checking Miner Statistics
After starting the mining process, allow several minutes for statistics to appear on both your Antminer and Antpool dashboards.
On the Antminer dashboard, you will see metrics for "Real-time Hashrate", "Network Status", "Fan Speed", and "Miner Temperature", all of which should display as "Normal". Below, a chart shows the chain’s hashrate, and on the left, your Antminer’s specific hashrate. A normal range is between 3,600 and 4,000 MH/s, as the machine targets 3,680 MH/s.
At the bottom of the page, you should see two mining boards, each with a theoretical capacity of 1,850 MH/s. When you navigate to the "Pools" section, check the "Accepted" column to confirm that Antpool is accepting your work submissions. If numbers appear here, your miner is functioning correctly and is connected to the pool.
On your Antpool account dashboard, you will see a parallel set of statistics. The "Dashboard" tab displays your worker’s hashrate, the number of active workers, and your total earnings.
Optimizing Your Mining Setup
To maximize efficiency, ensure your mining environment remains cool and stable. High temperatures can reduce performance and hardware lifespan. Regularly monitor your dashboard for any anomalies in hashrate or temperature. Additionally, keep your firmware updated to benefit from the latest performance improvements and security patches.
For those managing multiple devices, consider using management software to track all your miners from a single interface. This can streamline monitoring and reduce the time spent on individual checks.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the power consumption of the Antminer E9 Pro?
The Antminer E9 Pro consumes 3000 watts and operates on 220–240 volts. If your region uses a different voltage, a transformer is necessary.
How do I access the Antminer interface?
Open a web browser and enter 192.168.0.210 in the address bar. Use the default credentials "root" for both the user ID and password, then change the password for security.
Why isn’t my miner showing statistics immediately?
It can take several minutes after startup for statistics to populate on the dashboard. Ensure all connections are secure and wait for the data to sync.
What should I do if my hashrate is below 3,600 MH/s?
Check your network stability and power supply. Also, verify that the cooling system is functioning properly, as overheating can reduce performance.
Can I use the same Antpool account for multiple miners?
Yes, you can manage multiple miners under one Antpool account. Assign each a unique name using your account ID and a distinct number.
How often are earnings updated on Antpool?
Earnings are typically updated in real-time on the Antpool dashboard, but allow for slight delays during high network activity.
